Lugana Riserva Menasasso

Produced from a selected plot within the Selva Cru, the Turbiana grapes, that make up this rich and refined white wine, are harvested few days after the regular vintage to explore the full potential of the this wonderful vineyard.

The must ferments in stainless steel at carefully controlled temperatures. The wine then rests in stainless steel tanks on fine lees for at least two years, with bâtonnage performed, and is bottled before the onset of the summer heat. After six months of bottle ageing, the wine is ready to be released from the cellar.

In appearance, it shows a straw-yellow colour, ranging from pale to more intense depending on the stage of ageing.
On the nose, it is intense and complex, revealing the varietal’s core characteristics: citrus notes—here expressed in a softer, sweeter register—alongside aromatic herbs and an enveloping, well-balanced minerality.
Starting with the 2017 vintage, the family’s 100th harvest, we discontinued the use of oak ageing in order to allow for a purer and more precise expression of the grape variety.
On the palate, the wine is warm, engaging and harmonious, maintaining remarkable clarity and linearity. The finish is long, marked by a gentle, gradual sweetness that concludes with great finesse.

The first vintage was produced in 1998.
